Ian Lougher has claimed his eighth TT title when he won the Lightweight TT on the Billown course.
Out of luck in the earlier Ultra-Lightweight TT, when his chain broke in the closing stages, Lougher was always in the mix in the 12 lap 250cc event.

An incredible battle raged in the early laps, with Palmer, Dunlop, Lougher and Farquhar all taking the lead during the first six circuits. However, once Ian was in the lead he stamped his authority on the race to take victory by 8.65 seconds from Farquhar with Palmer third.
